Campaigner

Since 2016, I have worked with an alliance of civic and community organisations, to campaign on behalf of community priorities, specifically the Real Living Wage, affordable housing, safety, and migratory justice.

As an immigrant myself, I know the challenges of making a life in this country and I’m passionate about helping people in the city make the best possible life for themselves. I’ve been involved in campaigns to make a fairer and more equitable immigration system that encourages people to aspire to proudly contribute to this country.

In 2020, on the day I became a British citizen, I also joined the Labour Party and have been working in the Harborne Ward to address local issues and make sure that the voices of everyone in the city are heard. I’m now standing as a Labour Candidate in the Moseley by-election, set for 23 October. I’m always eager to hear more about the challenges people face and the barriers to living happy, safe, and fulfilling lives in our city.
